April kicked off, as each month usually does, with Good Shout! Featured artist this month was Dominic Berry. Dominic was 2017 Glastonbury Festival Poet in Residence, and twice winner of the Saboteur ‘Best Spoken Word Artist’ award (2017, 2020). It was not difficult to see why he has been so lauded.

Our only other event this month was a last-minute, sold-out show from Beat Me Outta Me – to support the release of their latest single, ‘Mascara’:
It was a pleasure to see a younger crowd coming through the door, to enjoy some live bands… enough to make one optimistic for the future of live music… Support on the night came from local noiseniks Patchwork, who made their first appearance on our stage. And it will likely not be their last.
BMOM have also been in to use our studios recently, recording their next single with us, so watch this space for more news, when that’s ready for release.
Speaking of releases: we put out ‘Sugar-coated Mealncholy’, by The Pocket Symphony Orchestra – the second single from their Patchwork Memories project. Listen here:
The rest of the month was very busy with rehearsals, as bands gear up for their busy Spring/Summer schedule… It was a pleasure to watch Lebrock take to the stage at a sold-out homecoming show, at The Met Lounge, after weeks of practicing, locked away in one of our rooms.
And to close out the month, we had a very exciting first-ever rehearsal for a very exciting new tribute band (though we are under an implied NDA, so you’ll have to wait to hear more from them…
Let’s see what May brings…
