Good Shout! Poetry Open Mic – feat. Leon the Poet
7 August @ 18:45-22:30 BST

Well for such an AUGUST occasion…we’d better smash it then!
Good Shout is held at Here We Aren’t, Godric Square every first Thursday of the month; doors at 6.40pm, start at 7pm. £5 OTD. So how does this affect you?
Are you a poet? Come and do some words.
Spoken Word and Poetry open mic, first come, first served. 2 poems per poet, priority is given to new performers and those who travel!
If you would like to perform, get in touch via facebook, or just turn up on the night and sign up on the door!
This month we are joined by Leon the Poet!
Leon the poet is an Essex based poet, writer and performer. His debut poetry collection ‘Sometimes i’m the bull, sometimes I’m the China shop’ was published in late 2024 by Earth Island Books. A human once described his work as ‘witty, sharp and always thought provoking’ (thoughts, words action)
However, in a survey of animals ( both domesticated and feral) the consensus was his poetry was needlessly angry with too many words in.
He was raised in a high control religious group and often returns to the themes of god, belief and the frank absurdity of being alive.
